The same construction funds put here would yield an increase in grades from 5%-20%.&nbsp; So help them with one hand and refuse to help with the other....</p> </div> <p class=1BlkHeadingBold><strong> <o:p>10/08/2009</o:p></strong></p> <p class=1WhtBody> <o:p><strong>Today the school board heard the item continuing the 2006 selected architects list.&nbsp; I spoke about this item telling them what had transpired and that the Board promised that the list would be replaced in two years.&nbsp; That time frame has gone by and they have no end in sight.&nbsp; It was stated that the new list would be done before May 2010.&nbsp; This is in time for the political donation season of that year.</strong></o:p></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p class="1WhtBody">At Thursday s School Board meeting, architect Ken Small urged the members to put off approving paying between $82,000 and $89,300 to have construction consultants double-check the work of contractors and subcontractors at four school sites under construction.</p> <p class="1WhtBody">Similar jobs are going for $50,000 in the private sector, Small said.</p> <p class="1WhtBody"> Write in a 15 percent discount today, Small said. But there&#39;s no need for magic because everyone in the BOC meeting who heard this statistical lie engineered by the bureaucracy presented knew that it was crap.&nbsp; I&#39;ll just say that I appreciate the honesty of Trustee Garvey when she said that she voted for these (my word  Unneeded ) schools because she wanted to offer jobs to our community.&nbsp; Let&#39;s try honest and fair dealings as opposed to a wink and some nonsense statistics.&nbsp; Anybody wanting to hear the joke can get the recording of the BOC meeting from CCSD.&nbsp; I am the only architect who is LEED accredited and a Recognized Educational Facility Planner in southern Nevada.&nbsp; I get up to the mike at these school board meetings and they just vote with the bureaucracy no matter how absurd (or thinly veiled lie) the reason is.
